THE IDEA FOR A WEEKEND TRIP STARTED ON WEDNESDAY WITH A TEXT...
and here we were, setting up tents in the middle of Joshua Tree, giddy and anxious to explore the desert. Clouds rolled above, blanketing the vast sky in gray and casting a cool, flat light light on the desert floor below. Flora and fauna thrived from the rains: branches dark and wet, the usually dusty ground packed down. Mountains dotted the skyline, daring us to climb. We began the ascent, leaping over boulders and balancing on rocks, making our way to the top of the world. Wind coursed through the air and into our veins, and for a moment, the sun burst through the clouds, immersing the world below in rose colored lenses. We grinned... Joshua Tree is always a good idea.
